Here is a patch implementing option 1. It implements a new charmap
'hd44780_euro' and adds an entry to the testmenus to display the extended
character set (0xA0-0xFF).

@Pierre: Please test with your display.

While testing with my displays, I found that the replacement of 'µ' (181) in
the default table is inappropriate as there is closer match available. I
changed this as well.
