Well, David Glaude asked to do so ;-)

That's what I found in other documentation about autoconf & friends too (I am
a newbie to autoconf & Co). Butt funnily I do not have autogen.sh anywhere
near my PATH nor near the lcdproc CVS tarball.
Skimming through autobook, the documentation to autoconf & friends, I found
that the authors recommend to ship a file called 'bootstrap' with any source
tarball that has the following contents:
#! /bin/sh
aclocal \
&& automake --gnu --add-missing \
&& autoconf

I am willing to learn more about autoconf & friends and offer my help with
the
autoreconf stuff. Of course I'd need CVS access for it.

It works fine for me.
Maybe you better checkin the 2nd version I posted to the list last Wednesday.
together with a patch for Code Mercenaries IOWarrior, which is also a USB
display driver.
You can find them at: http://www.adpm.de/lcdproc/
Both patches work for me.
