This should of course be handled by a compile time switch. Again,
I'm volunteering, but I need an account on a FreeBSD5 machine. I
simply can't install and maintain (or own) every OS and architecture
we support :-)

I did get accounts on Linux, Solaris, Irix and OpenBSD, having NetBSD
myself.
