the command for lilo is the same, actuallt it is independend of the used
bootloader. It just created the kernel binary (, as a Big Zipped Image)

Here you would have to make sure that /etc/lilo.conf is correct (e.g.
includes the new kernel), and run lilo afterwards (as root)

If you just add or remove options, or change a driver, a make clean
should be sufficient.
