Hi all,
Just finished wiring my HD44780 Seiko L2014 display (20x4). On powerup,
I see the 2 lines of "black". When I startup LCDd using the startup
script I see the screen flash, then go back to the black bars. When I
startup lcdproc (again using the script) the screen displays the 2 black
bars (only slightly dimmer now) with 2 1/2 black bars on lines 3 and 4.
It alternates between this and the solid 2 black bars.
Here's my LCDd.conf:

I had parallel support and lp0 support compiled into the kernel, so I
recompiled the kernel and configured them as modules. Here are my
loaded modules:
Module Size Used by
au8830 143328 0
ipchains 45284 0 (unused)
But, if I look at the dmesgs I see this:
parport0: PC-style at 0x378 [PCSPP(,...)]
Does that mean the parallel port module is stll being used????
Also, does LCDd or lcdproc write out any error messages anywhere? I
didn't see anything in /var/log/messages.
Thanks for any help anyone can give me.
Mike
