Ok.

First of all, I'm rather new to the world of LCDproc and to the
list...with that said, please don't flame me too hard.

I have a BetaBrite LED Sign. It runs on my /dev/ttyS1 at 9600, N, 8,
1. I know the protocol and I know how to send text to the sign, as
well as hap-hazardly create special letters.

I downloaded and made LCDProc for curses. I don't have an LCD Sign,
but I've got this cool little Blinky-blinky LED sign that I think
would run fine. I need to make a driver for it, but have no idea
where to start looking or anything like that.

I google'd and looked for anything that remotely came close to this
topic, breifly looked in the mailing lists, and to no avail...I'm
kinda shot.

What should I start looking for when building a driver? Is there a
template driver file that I can go in and fill in the comms protocol
for the BetaBrite with this? Or, is there a
not-so-nice-going-to-take-me-until-I-actually-graduate-with-my-CS-degr
ee style of driver files involved?

Ian

- From RFC 1925: "(3) With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.
However,
this is not necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they
are
going to land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they
fly
overhead."
