The regular update speed is 8 frames per second. I'm not sure
how fast it runs on hd44780's, but with the recently improved
driver I've heard it's quite fast. But I don't know if that
means "only 1 second per frame" or "100 frames per second".
How slow is the display running for you? And, for other people
who have the hd44780, how fast is it?
